Banja Luka is once again filled with color and spectacular performances, as another edition of the street performers’ festival “TrotoArt” has begun on the streets of the largest city in the Republic of Srpska.

The opening of the festival was once again attended by Mayor Draško Stanivuković, who said that this is a wonderful festival which, year after year, brings together an increasing number of participants, and therefore, more and more visitors.

“For the fifth year in a row, Banja Luka is hosting a truly special and unique festival, ‘TrotoArt’, where more than 500 performers, not only from Banja Luka but also from across the Republic of Srpska, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, as well as Portugal, Brazil, Argentina and many other countries, come here. I would like to thank everyone who came to present art in an artistic spirit, on the streets of our city, where art can be seen at every corner,” said the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković.

He invited all citizens and visitors to follow the festival program over the next seven days.

Spomenko Guzijan, president of the Banja Luka City Tamburitza Orchestra, which is a co-organizer of the event, said that visitors can expect a rich program, attractive stage effects and an excellent atmosphere in the coming days, adding that Banja Luka has once again shown that it knows how to welcome and host thousands of visitors.

“Five years of this festival means that it already has a tradition and that it will continue to live on the streets of Banja Luka for a long time, bringing together artists from all over the world. All of this encourages our local artists to step out onto the streets, show what they can do, connect with the audience and, in that way, expand the art scene. Banski dvor is not the only place where music can be heard, a theater is not the only place where acting can be performed, and an atelier is not the only place where we can see what a painter has to present — all of that can also be experienced on the streets of Banja Luka,” said Guzijan.

The official opening was marked by positive energy and togetherness, while every corner of the city will continue to be filled with the special spirit that this festival brings in the days ahead.

Over the coming days, the festival will offer numerous events, performances, workshops and interesting programs, and already on the first evening it was clear that visitors can expect unforgettable moments and memorable experiences.
